New Policy Regarding Masking for Sunday Service:

March 9, 2023
The Executive Committee meets once a month to discuss issues pertinent to BUUC.  In August, we had decided to leave our mandatory masking policy in place until the end of the year, when we would revisit it.  Since January, we have devoted much time, conversation, and consideration to evaluating our masking policy.  This past Monday night, we voted to change our policy to one where masks are now optional.  It was a unanimous decision.

I recognize that this change may be disconcerting for some, and it may be happy news for others.  For some of us, wearing a mask is cumbersome and intrusive.  For others, not wearing a mask will be a relief.  Wearing a mask will now be a personal choice, in keeping with what we have been doing during coffee hour the entire church year.  And, I can’t emphasize enough for you to stay home if you feel ill in any way.  Please join our services via Zoom.

This new policy will go into effect on Sunday, March 19th.  At the same time, we will have three HEPA filtered air purifiers running.  And, as before, when weather permits, we will open windows.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we undertake these changes.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me anytime.
