Welcome to "The Little Stone Church That Rocks!"
A fellowship of seekers after truth, bound by no dogma, restricted by no creed.
Our mission is to support and promote the principles of Unitarian Universalism. By nurturing spirituality, intellectual growth, diversity of belief, and our ties to one another, we seek to inspire lives of passion, compassion and community. We do this for ourselves and for the larger world.
 OUR AFFIRMATION
HERE: We unite in an atmosphere of care and support to foster spiritual health and growth.
HERE: We focus on sharing our ideas and histories, with warmth, hope, loving friendship and an open mind.
HERE: We nurture stability for our daily lives and seek motivation to reach out to the larger community.
SUNDAY SERVICES
SUNDAY SERVICES ARE HELD AT 10:30 A.M.  IN PERSON AND VIA ZOOM, when Zoom volunteers are available.

New Policy Regarding Masking for Sunday Service:

March 9, 2023
The Executive Committee meets once a month to discuss issues pertinent to BUUC.  In August, we had decided to leave our mandatory masking policy in place until the end of the year, when we would revisit it.  Since January, we have devoted much time, conversation, and consideration to evaluating our masking policy.  This past Monday night, we voted to change our policy to one where masks are now optional.  It was a unanimous decision.

I recognize that this change may be disconcerting for some, and it may be happy news for others.  For some of us, wearing a mask is cumbersome and intrusive.  For others, not wearing a mask will be a relief.  Wearing a mask will now be a personal choice, in keeping with what we have been doing during coffee hour the entire church year.  And, I can’t emphasize enough for you to stay home if you feel ill in any way.  Please join our services via Zoom.

This new policy will go into effect on Sunday, March 19th.  At the same time, we will have three HEPA filtered air purifiers running.  And, as before, when weather permits, we will open windows.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we undertake these changes.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me anytime.

We acknowledge that our church is located on land that is the traditional territory of the Quaboag People and the Nipmuck Nation.  We recognize that our church and our country was built on Indigenous land. We are inspired by the hills, waters and wildlife around us and acknowledge the legacy and stewardship of this land’s original inhabitants, who suffered great losses in the building of our country.

The Brookfield Unitarian Universalist Church is both a Welcoming Congregation and a Green Sanctuary.
